In 2011, the four regional Societies - the European Society of Paediatric Radiology, the Society for Pediatric Society, the Latin American Society of Paediatric Radiology and the Asian and Oceanic Society of Paediatric Radiology - united to establish the World Federation of Paediatric Imaging (WFPI).

The WFPI aims to address global barriers to optimal paediatric imaging care, promoting education, best practices, appropriate imaging guidelines, and working to provide better access to vital imaging care for children worldwide – particularly those in developing or war-torn areas.

Inspired by a global reach developed through years of interaction and exchange, the regional societies pioneering the World Federation will, in close cooperation with global health organizations, foster ties between paediatric imaging organizations around the world and serve as a unified voice on the practice of paediatric imaging.
